6 month review
I got the Gungnir Curler as a Christmas present as my friends and family know I’ve been a huge fan of their products.
Already own the Allrounder (barbell) and the Dumblers (loadable dumbbells)
From Garage Gym Reviews - stating it is Crème De Le Crème of curl bars:
I wanted to get this review out earlier, but life came at me, being sick for some time, but finally able to sit down and type this out and share my opinion on a $500 Curl bar.
For comparison, I was able to get a discounted Rogue rackable curl bar.
You can see the difference between the bends (Top/Black – Rogue) (Bottom/Silver – Gungnir)

The shaft is stainless steel and sleeves are electroless nickel. The quality of the bar is impeccable. I’ve written about the quality from Gungnir in my other posts:

Of course the special thing about the Gungnir products is the slide-lock system making it not requiring collars. It's definitely a quality of life aspect and enjoy it a lot more for the other products. On the curl bar, it's something small and nice to not worry about looking for collars, but not as important/needed like the dumbbells and barbell.
One criticism I’ve heard about the Gungnir Curler is that
"It is not fully knurled, and for the price it should be."
I can agree with that sentiment, but at the same time, personally I don’t think it would add anything to the bar. The knurling spots tell you where to put your hands for an even grip. However, I do believe at the price point, I could see people wanting every possible addition to the bar.
EDIT: 6/27 - Apparently the new Gungnir Curler is now fully knurled:

The Gunnir Curler not being fully rackable curl bar was a bit of a disappointment as I believe most people prefer a rackable curl bar especially in the home gym community as it’s easier to curl in the power rack.
Something that was surprising was how good the knurling was. It’s medium knurling and feels better than the Allrounder (barbell) version. This is something that is super subjective, so if you’re looking for something that is sharp and really digs into your hand, this knurling isn’t for you.
Comparing it to the Rogue curl bar, the Rogue version has knurling and even though it’s on the whole shaft except the middle, it’s extremely passive and was not a fan of it at all. It was extremely passive where it just feels smooth, so it’s almost as if there is no knurling at all.
The curves of the curl bar, I think this might the hardest thing to recommend to others as to say which has the best bends really depend on the person. The Gungnir Curler has slightly more aggressive bends than the Rogue Bar and it’s a positive because if the bends aren’t as aggressive you don’t feel the benefit of stress relief in your wrists and elbows.
It’s a great curl bar, if you have the money, it’ll last forever and is made with extremely high-quality materials.

At the same time the price of this curl bar is the same amount of a decent quality barbell for example:
Rogue Ohio Power Bar – Stainless Steel bar and stainless-steel sleeves, it’s $485 before shipping.

The TLDR –
Get this bar if you have the money, it’s expensive.
